Dr. Ole Pahl - Lecturer - Environmental Technology
Ole Pahl is a lecturer on environmental issues within the School of the Built and Natural Environment at Glasgow Caledonian University. Ole Pahl qualified as an environmental engineer from the Fachhochschule Hamburg in 1995. He graduated with a PhD in chemical engineering, specialising in agricultural wastewater treatment and emission abatement. He produced an MLC leaflet for farmers on environmental protection, and was on the editorial board of a recently published EU sponsored book on sustainable organics management in agriculture.
Research Interests
- Anaerobic co-digestion of organic fraction of household waste with sewage sludge.
- Clean-up and use of low grade compost derived from MBT plants.
- Identification of sustainable management options for healthcare waste.
- Ecological footprinting for healthcare installations.
- Use of anaerobic digestion as sustainable waste management option for rural communities.
