State of the World report on economic consumption

In the five decades since the end of the Second World War, we in the West have engaged in more economic consumption than in the whole of recorded human history prior to WW2. However developing countries are catching up rapidly, affecting badly their health, happiness and environment according to the Worldwatch Institute in its annual report, State of the World 2004.
